Donald Eric King, 47, of High Point, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday July 9, 2012 at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born, Monday, June 7, 1965 in Charlotte, NC, a son of the late Betty Jean Harding and Oscar Ray King.
He attended the schools of Mecklenburg County. Donnie was Christian by faith, enjoyed the outdoors and was a Boy Scout leader. During his working career had several service type jobs, but his most enjoyable years were spent as a Fireman. In the eyes of family and friends he was a true hero. Later in his career he was a policeman.
Left to cherish his memories include, son Eric Thomas King of Leland, NC; one brother Bobby Ray King of Matthews, NC; half-brothers, Jason King of Charlotte and Kevin Harding of South Carolina; step-brother Chad King of Concord, NC; sisters, Renee Thompson of Charlotte, NC, Kim Miller of Denver, NC, Kathy Walker of Maryville, TN and Tammy Polk of Hudson, NC; half-sister, Kelly Lewis of Kinston, NC and many nieces and nephews.
In his death many people will be given another chance at life because he was an organ donor.
