Donald Engelke, September 12, 1932 – April 6, 2010.

Donald Gene Engelke, of Belton, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Scott & White Hospital complications after heart surgery. Mr. Engelke is survived by his two daughters: Donna Forney and her husband, John, and JoAnn Mann, both of Belton. Mr. Engelke is also survived by his five grandchildren: Joshua Mann and his wife, Tiffani, of Killeen, Jeremy Engelke and his wife, Jenise, of Belton, Lindsey Goodnight and her husband, Marcus, of Temple, and Dustin Mann and his wife, Michelle, of Belton, and Meghan McCullough and her husband, Daniel, of Dalllas.

He was loved and will be missed by his eight great-grandchildren: Dylan Mann; Jackson, Tatum, and Bryant Engelke; Allie Goodnight; Kooper Mann; and Ethan and Aidan McCullough and his God-daughter, Jayde Williamson of Belton. Mr. Engelke served in the United States Air Force for twenty-seven years and was stationed around the world, including: Offut, Dyess, Carswell, Nellis, and Lackland Air Force Bases. Mr. Engelke ended his distinguished Air Force career in 1977 retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant, and went to work for Strasburger Enterprises and later for Hunter, Inc. in Houston, Texas.

He served in a variety of community and church-related leadership positions, including the Knights of Columbus-serving as Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator.
