Bridgewater Twp., Donald E Sweeney, age 97 of Bridgewater Township, died peacefully in his sleep Friday at The Chelsea at Bridgewater. Mr. Sweeney was born and grew up in Imperial, CA; and attended high school in Long Beach where he excelled in track. He was the son of the late Earl Sweeney and Violet Price, residing in New Milford, NJ most of his life prior to moving to Bridgewater 5 years ago.
Upon returning from Berlin, Germany after WWII, where he was a tank commander and paratrooper, he graduated from USC with a BA in Cinematography. He was a self-employed Cinematographer who began his career filming commercials, eventually moving into feature film production.
Beloved husband for 70 years of the late Ann Marie Moscarello, who died in 2017, he is survived by:
3 Sons; Donald and Christine Sweeney of Bridgewater, NJ;
Stephen and Joan Sweeney of Lavallette, NJ;
Thomas Sweeney of Park Ridge, NJ;
6 Grandchildren; Julie Rogers, Michael Sweeney, Catherine McBride, Allison Slager, Ryan Sweeney, and Shawn Sweeney
7 Great Grandchildren and numerous Nieces and Nephews
