Donald E. Shuffitt, 82, Anderson, passed away January 25, 2011 at Community Hospital, Anderson after a brief illness.
He was born July 25, 1928 in Louisville, Kentucky, and resided in Anderson since 1991. Donald was a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. He served his country in the US Air Foce during the Korean War. He was a retired computer analyst from Honeywell and IBM. Donald attended St. Matthew United Methodist Church and was a member of the AARP Local Chapter and Rangeline Community Center. He was a quiet and gentle man who provided generously for his family and several charitable causes. He volunteered several years at St. John’s Health System and the shipp program. Donald was a tax consultant for VITA.
He is survived by his wife whom he married August 14, 1999, Marjorie Phillips; daughter, Carol Allred Sherrill; step-son, Richard Ryan Glenda; step-daughter, Nancy Ryan; sister, Kathi Ferguson; grandchildren, Jenny Power Jason, Justin Webb Erica and Amanda Webb; step-grandchildren, Nathan Ryan and Kacey Ryan; three great grandchildren, Braden, Landon and Drew; several nieces and nephews. He loved to play cards and games; Euchre on Thursdays with special friends, Norm and Gladys and “Hands and Feet” with friends, Ivis, Myra, Wanda and Marjorie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife, Edna Shuffitt; son, Barry Shuffitt; brother, Al Shuffitt; one niece; and beloved dog, Pierre.
