Donald E. Bartrom, 83, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Huntington.
Mr. Bartrom was born on August 28, 1938, in Huntington, IN, to Francis and Cecile (Allen) Bartrom. His parents preceded him in death. Donald married Mary Jane Eckert at St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington, IN, on August 9, 1958. She survives and resides in Huntington, IN.
Don was a 1956 graduate of Huntington Catholic High School and attended the University of Detroit. Mr. Bartrom was a self-employed tax practitioner with his wife for over 50 years. He always said he had the best boss. Don was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church where he was very active and helped host marriage encounter weekends, member of the Christ Renews his Parish, and an instructor with RCIA. Don was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a former Grand Knight with Council #1014. He was also on the first little league baseball team in Huntington County.
Along with his wife he is survived by three sons, Kevin M. (Rita Giovannoni) Bartrom, Madison, WI, Kenneth L. (Karen Ann) Bartrom, Fort Wayne, IN, Thomas E. (Kimberly K.) Bartrom, Huntington, IN; three daughters, Karen E. Bartrom, Columbia City, IN, Susan J. (Vince) Scher, Indianapolis, IN, and Sara A. (Randal) Warner, Fort Wayne, IN. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Adam (Emily) Bartrom, Phil (Val) Bartrom, Josh Bartrom, Jordan (Nate) Mundy, Ethan (Chelsea) Bartrom, Keegan (fiancé’ Julia Crist) Bartrom, Colin (Mary) Scher, Tara Scher, Brendan Scher, Jared Warner, Zach Warner, Kayla Warner; and 9 great grandchildren with one more expected in March.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard D. Bartrom, his twin brother, Ronald T. Bartrom; and one sister, Barbara A. Kastner.
