Donald Eugene Arthur, 79 years, of Arcadia, IL died Monday evening, May 14, 2007 at his residence.
He was born February 24, 1928 in Jacksonville, IL; the son of Eugene and Zelda Pearl Rouland Arthur. He married Lela Anne Perry on July 14, 1960 in Canton, IL and she survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Danny Arthur (wife, Cheryl) of Coeur Dâ??aLene, ID and Jeffrey Arthur (wife, Chermey) of Upton, WY; and six grandchildren, Spencer and Perry Arthur of Coeur Dâ??aLene, ID, Jenna Arthur of Chapin, and Kaylee, Alex & Cable Arthur of Upton, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Arthur was a 1946 graduate of Jacksonville High School and served with the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed at Kroger Grocery Store in Jacksonville and later joined the United States Postal Service where he worked from 1967 until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of Jacksonville VFW Post #1379 and enjoyed collecting and recording movies in his spare time.
