Donald (Duck) Duane Armstrong, Sr., age 64, of Cass Lake, departed to the spirit world at his home on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 with his family by his side.
He was born on October 14, 1949 in White Earth Minnesota the son of Jack Ostrem Jr. and Cleo Armstrong.
Donald “Duck” as everyone called him was a mechanic and liked to work on cars. He even raced at the Bemidji Speedway in his younger years.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather Delmer Jones, aunt Evelyn Thompson, sister Doreen Kay and brother in-law Sonny Seelye, sister in-law Audrey Swan, mother in-law Iva Lou LaDuke, step brothers George, Howard, Oranie Jones and step sister Patty Sue Headbird.
Duck is survived by his wife Tammi, sons Donald, Jr., Daniel and Donavan of Cass Lake, David (Kathy) Armstrong of Minneapolis, daughters Patricia of Tennessee, Dyan of Arizona, and Corrina of Bemidji, mother Cleo Armstrong of Cass Lake, brothers Mike Swan of Ponsford, Jr. (Doris) Jones, Joe Jones, Bill Jones, sisters Pat (Warren) Strom of Elgin, Illinois, Vicki and Bev Swan, Julie (Terry) Morris-Jones of Cass Lake, brothers in-law Alfred (Cindy) Earling of Iowa, Terry (Marilyn) LaDuke, sisters in-law Chyrle (Pat) LaDuke and Marla LaDuke, all of Cass Lake, Minnesota. As well as many aunts, nephew and nieces, special grandson Donald III, 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
