Don passed away peacefully in his Parker home on November 7, 2018 in the company of his wife and a dear family friend. There was cremation.
He was born in Flandreau, South Dakota to Ann (Hanson) Allen and Joe Allen. The family moved to Denver in 1954, and Don graduated from South High School in 1955. During his senior year at South High, Don was a member of marching and concert bands. After high school, Don served in the Marine Corps Reserve.
Don was a successful businessman who owned and guided the operation of two manufacturing companies: D.J. Allen Co., and American Access Systems, Inc.
Upon his retirement, Don enjoyed life on his property in Ponderosa Hills, helping to care for the horses and mowing the pastures on his tractor. He loved his dogs, all of whom he and Pam rescued over a number of years.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Pamela, a nephew, Robert Allen and Robert’s wife Paula, and nieces Deidre and Sandra Allen, as well as great nieces Paige, Ashlyn, and Rhiland Allen and great nephew Jason Johnson.
