Donald “Don” G. Braddy Donald “Don” G. Braddy, 87 of Centralia, went to Heaven on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. He was born January 19, 1930, in Jefferson County, the son of John Harvey Braddy and Alta (Loyd) Braddy. He married Mildred Hawkins on October 25, 1952, and she survives in Centralia.
In addition to his wife of 65 years, he is also survived by a son, Gordon Ray Braddy of Centralia; a daughter, Sally Ray and husband Bob of Centralia; two grandchildren: Andrea Ray of Centralia and Robert Ray of Centralia; two brothers: Dennis Braddy and wife Marlene of Walnut Hill and Larry Braddy and wife Linda of Walnut Hill; a brother-in-law: Dwight Pugh of Centralia; several nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers: Wilney Braddy, Vernon Braddy, Kenneth Braddy, Stanley Braddy, Gene Braddy, and Melvin Braddy. Don was a member of the Blaze Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Cravat, Illinois, where he served as a Deacon. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. Don worked at Wilson Drug Store, Grand Prairie Township, and Walmart in Centralia. He also enjoyed going to family reunions and telling stories. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and friends.
