Donald “Don” E. Martinache, 76, of Monroe died on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at his home.
Don, the son of Joseph Earl and Hilda Madeline (Dailey) Martinache, was born on June 20, 1942 in Knoxville. He grew up in Red Rock and Cordova before moving to Knoxville. Don was united in marriage with Karen Norene Mattice on March 9, 1972 in Nebraska City, Nebraska. They made their home in Monroe. Don worked as a Journeyman Highline Electrical Worker for Brown Brothers for 15 years and then for Pella Corp for 18 years. Don later retired from Correll Contractors. He was a member of the IBEW Local 55 and the Laborers’ Union Local 353. Don enjoyed fishing, watching wildlife, and road tripping.
Don is survived by his wife, Karen Martinache of Monroe; children, Kimberly Martinache of Montana, Cindy Tangeman of Newton, Wendy Battles (Doug DeHaai) of Newton, Kevin Martinache of Knoxville, James Martinache (Karla Kain) of Monroe, and Chad Martinache of Monroe; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Joan VerSteeg of Knoxville. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kelly Knowles; son, Donnie Joe Martinache; and two brothers, Blue and Jerry Martinache.
