Donald Brian Davis, 69, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away on Monday June 27, 2022 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 28, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Donald B. and Lorraine B. (Samson) Davis. On September 10, 1985 in Waukegan, Illinois he married Barbara Jo Kenski who survives him. He is also survived by two daughters, Stephanie (Ray) Crest of Oswego, Illinois, Amber (Adam) Varga of New Carlisle, Indiana, two sons, Robert (Stacie) Freeman of LaPorte, Indiana, Brandon (Joanna) Davis of Las Vegas, Nevada, nine grandchildren, Austin, Tyler, Dominic, Emily, Landon, Haiden, Emerson, Rowen and Aaron. Donald is also survived by his extra family Pam, Aleea and Melissa.

He has loved grubbing in the dirt since he was 3, playing with his tonka trucks moving earth. He started landscaping part time at 18. He served on the Niles police force for several years until he started his own business full time in 1977.  He liked to boat on the Chain of Lakes in Illinois and camp. Owning Mini Mountain Campground and Lakeside RV Resort really fit the bill. He was able to craft the land and feel like he was camping, and at Lakeside he was also able to boat.
Once he got that out of his system, he decided he wanted to own a nursery. I guess you could say he was a serial entrepreneur. Even with a file of papers 2 ft high on his desk (he hates paperwork) He was good at business.
Don continued to work and plow snow until the end.

He loves his kids even if he forgot to pick up Amber from school every day of 6th grade. She did forgive him.
He has been a proud English setter owner since he was 10 years old. Though not a hunter, they were his favorite breed.
Cruising to new regions was a favorite pastime. He may have disliked all the churches in Italy but he loved the food and the sea. He said it has been a good life, met some great friends and he felt loved.
