Those left to honor Don’s memory are his wife, Rhonda Deakins of Kellogg; daughter, Ashli Lewis of Colfax; his step-daughter, Shawna Rawlins of Newton; 2 grandchildren, Tristan and Tory; his sister, Denise and Bob Gilbert of Des Moines; and his nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lorena (Garrison) Deakins and his brother, Dennis Deakins.
He was a graduate of Colfax-Mingo High School in 1981.
