Donald Clayton Bailey, age 80, of Clarksburg, died on October 7, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born on June 13, 1933 in Clarksburg, WV son of the late Congressman Cleveland Monroe and Maude Agatha Rigby Bailey. He graduated from Charleston High School, Morris Harvey College, George Washington College in Washington, DC, was retired from the WV Dept. of Highways in Charleston, WV as a Planning Director, was in the Korean Conflict War serving in the US Army, collected coins and stamps, was a Civil War buff, loved WVU football and basketball, fan of St. Louis Cardinals, Washington Redskins fan, and avid golfer. He is survived by his 3 daughters and sons-in-laws; Donna K. And Larry Scott, of Gaston, SC, Alicia Suzanne and Troy Helmick, of Kingwood, WV, and Linda Rae Cross, of Clarksburg; 7 grandchildren, Sarah Scott, Noah Scott, Jacob and wife Jennifer Helmick, Miles Helmick, Jennifer Wood, Bethany Wood, Bailey Wood, 3 great-grand children, Alayna, Gabriella, and Hayden; sister, Wanda Dibble, of California; several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Joselyn, Jared, and Ansel Bailey; 2 sisters, Audrey and Agatha.
