Donald Blair, 83, passed peacefully from this world on April 5, 2015 with his son by his side playing his favorite music. Don was born September 14, 1931 to John C. and Lola (Purl) Blair in Petersburg, Indiana. Don married Betty (Robinson) Blair April 15, 1954 in Mt. Carmel, Illinois and they enjoyed 52 years of marriage before she passed away in 2006.

Don attended Petersburg High School and then joined the Air Force. He was devoted to his country serving in the Korean War. Don joined the Indiana National Guard and retired as a Warrant Officer. Don attended and graduated from Vincennes University and Indiana State University. Don was loved and respected by his students at Tuttle Junior High School and Crawfordsville High School, retiring after 30 years of service.

Don believed in supporting the community. He was honored with the Sagamore of the Wabash Award in 1988. He loved God and attended First Christian Church and Christ United Methodist Church. He impacted many young people through Kids for Christ. Don was multitalented, building his family home and many sets for theatrical productions. He served on the board of the Vanity Theater for many years.

Don is survived by his two children, Kim (Joe) Beaumont, Lowell, Michigan and John P. Blair, Crawfordsville; his granddaughter Amanda Beaumont, Fredricksburg, VA. and two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Ava; two siblings, Mildred Thomas and Wanda Harker. He was preceded in death by four siblings.
