Donald Allen Riggs, 75, of Anderson, passed away on September 26, 2017 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. He was born on August 23, 1942 in Anderson, where he resided most of his life.
Donald graduated from Frankton High School in 1960, and he served his country in the United States Army. He retired as a Truck Driver for Venture Trucking after 52 years of service. He enjoyed being with his family, especially his granddaughters, who were the light of his life.
Donald is survived by his daughter, Dawn Rene’ Halsell; son, John Dustin (Molly) Riggs; siblings, Carolyn Sue Strick, Elaine (Bailey) (Al) Meredith, Jeannine (Bailey) (Jeffrey) Baeuerlein; granddaughters, Amanda (Jeremy) Stork, Elizabeth Riggs, Maria Riggs; aunt, Betty Johnson; extended family, Bill and Martha Stoudt; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Riggs; mother, Helen Riggs Bailey; father, John Wendell Riggs, who was killed in action during World War II; and his step-father, Charles Bailey.
