Donald Alfred Cornell, 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 10, 2010.
Born on August 15, 1930 in Boise, Idaho, Don was raised by his loving parents, Clark and Vera Cornell, in Middleton where he attended school and played on the varsity basketball team in high school.
In October 1950 he went to work for Mountain Bell/AT&T where he was employed for 35 years. He was president of Communication Workers of America for many years. He married Carolyn Bodily in 1951 in the Idaho Falls temple.
He liked being in the mountains, camping with his family, hunting and fishing, playing sports, especially basketball and softball.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn; daughter, Debi (DelRay) Olsen; son, Don (Lisa) Cornell; daughter, Laura (Martin) Walker; son-in-law, Mark (Nicki) Dowdle; son-in-law, Glenn Owens, 20 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clark and Vera Cornell; his in-laws, Ross and Amy Bodily; daughter, Terri Dowdle; and daughter, Vicki Owens.
