Donald “D.J.†Jackson Amos, 67, of Sandy Ridge, NC, died on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro, NC. Born in Stokes County on October 13, 1944, he was a son of the late Lula Mae Mills Amos and Thomas C. Amos. Mr. Amos was owner and operator of Amos Paving Company in Spencer, VA. He was a member of Virginia/Carolina Ruritan Club and he loved to hunt and fish. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a loving neighbor to all. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Lois Martin Amos of the home; son, Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Jackson Amos and wife Debbie S. Amos of Stuart; sister, Phyllis A. Gayle of Martinsville; brothers, Dewey T. Amos of Leesville, LA and Roger P. Amos of Ridgeway, VA; grandson, Justin Lee Amos and granddaughter, Jessica Leigh Amos.
