On Tuesday, August 14, 2018, Donald Wayne Kolb, a loving father, brother, son, and musician, passed away at the age of 69.
Don was born on July 30, 1949 in Albany, NY to Don and June Kolb. In 1963, the family moved across country to Arizona where he attended Maryvale High School, class of 1967 and went on to attend Glendale Community College. He has resided in Arizona the past 55 years.
Don was a true musician at heart and in skill as a writer, producer, and arranger mastering the bass guitar, as well as acoustic, keys, and vocals. On February 19, 1973 Don Kolb opened for Roberta Flack at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix. He also enjoyed astronomy, fishing, nature, camping, and dirt track racing. A natural photographer capturing the most beautiful landscapes and scenery shown in his earth portrait collection, he was a true renaissance man. Don had a truly infectious personality, befriending all whom he met. A celestial soul, sharer of wisdom, a kind and compassionate spirit who will be forever remembered.
Don was preceded in death by his father, Don Kolb. He is survived by his daughter Megan Kolb, his son in law Chris Jensen, his mother June Kolb, his sister Kathy Zinkhan, his niece Lindsay Tornabene, his love Georgia, and an uncle, several aunts, and many cousins.
