Don Bennett, age 80, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mr. Bennett was born on May 31, 1940 in Fitzgerald, Georgia the son of the late Rogers Marion and Lula Mae Walker Bennett.
Mr. Bennett was a retired Law Enforcement officer and was a veteran of the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant serving during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Penny Bennett, son, Richard Bennett, grandson, Marc Bennett, brother, George Bennett and a sister, Linda Frazier.
Survivors include two sons, Don Bennett (Tracy) of Douglas, GA and Jerry Bennett (Micky) of St. Louis, MO; daughter, Karen Bennett of Maryville, TN; step-daughter, Joyce Hazel-Black of Diamond City, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Austin Bennett, Katlynn Poole, Madison Bennett and Enoga Rune; two great grandsons, Winter Rune and Atlas Rune and one great granddaughter, Saige Poole.
