Don Aaron Hill, Sr., March 29, 1946 – March 11, 2018.
Mr. Hill died Sunday, March 11, 2018 in a Temple hospital. Mr. Hill was born March 29, 1946 in San Angelo, the son of Louis Aaron Hill and Doris (DeMoville) Hill. He joined the Texas Civil Air Patrol at the age of 15. He joined the United States Air Force at 16, on January 2, 1963 and served in the Air Force for 4 years. He then enlisted in the United States Army, retiring in 1984. He was a Vietnam veteran. He married Doi Troung, June 29, 1972 in San Angelo.
After his 20 years of military service, he worked in private security jobs, law enforcement and corrections jobs, and government contract jobs that took him all the way to the Middle East in support of military and government personnel, not retiring from such work until he was 65 years old. He also volunteered as a citizen supporter of local police. He was extremely proud to have spent 50 years of his life serving, protecting, and defending his country, his community, and his family.
He was a proud member of the SGI-USA Buddhist community in Killeen, a true Bodhisattva of the Earth with a mission to transform the sufferings of life into joy for himself and others. He was also a member of the VFW in Killeen. He is survived by his wife Doi Hill of Killeen; two sons Louis Hill III of Killeen, and Don Hill, Jr. of Waco and his partner Stephen Rambo; two informally acquired daughters Lisa Stratton of Temple, and Beatrice (Gouacide) Elam of Kansas; one brother Louis Hill II of Denver, and one sister Linda Baugh of San Angelo.
