Dolores V. (Wagner) McMeen, 91, of Peru, IL, and formerly of Neponset and Park Ridge, IL passed away peacefully Thursday, January 24, 2019, at her home.

Dolores was born February 13, 1927, in Chicago to John and Marie (Meznarich) Pohren Wagner. She married J. Bruce McMeen on September 30, 1950, in Chicago and is now at his side again.

Dolores was a wonderful homemaker, raising four children in Park Ridge while playing bridge and being active in her church, St. Paul of the Cross, prior to retirement in 1987, at which time the couple moved to Neponset, Bruce’s hometown. They moved to Peru in 2011. When her children were older, she started working at Wells Lamont Gloves. The family spent summers traveling the country in their “Gypsy,” a school bus that Bruce renovated into a camper for the family. After retirement, Dolores and Bruce spent their winters in Texas and Arizona. She was an accomplished artist and a wonderful bridge player. She enjoyed raising her children and entertaining friends and family.

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Ann McMeen of Las Vegas, NV; three sons, Gregory Alan McMeen of Princeton, IL, John Bruce (Beverly) McMeen of Austin, TX and Gary Richard (Lisa Ann) McMeen of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren, Mitchell and Elisa, Mikol “Cole” and David “Connor”, Benjamin, Brandie and Michael and her sister, MaryAnn (William) Taylor of Cincinnati, OH.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce on November 10, 2011, and her parents.
