DOLORES SAPIEN, 91, Deming resident passed away Monday September 12, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces.
Dolores was born February 18, 1920 in Deming to Hilaria Lucero and Pomposo Nava Chavez. Dolores worked as a school bus driver for the Deming Public Schools for 25 years and was a longtime member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and always kept busy tidying up her home.
She is survived by her son, Carlos Sapien and his wife Zoila of Deming; her daughter, Sylvia Griego of La Puente, CA; 2 brothers, Richard Chavez and Jose Chavez both of El Paso, TX; a sister, Nellie Bueno of Norwalk, CA; 6 grandchildren, Julian Rodriguez, Juliana Crooker and husband Ladd, Jeanette Claproth and husband Robert, Julia Panapa, Sergio Sapien and wife Maryann, Sophia Cruz and husband Eric; 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Carlos Sapein in 2007.
