Dolores Marie Korger, age 90, of Shelby, Nebraska, passed away May 6, 2019 at the Osceola Good Samaritan Society.
Dolores was born September 8, 1928 to Hubert and Paulina (Wieser) Bernt north of Shelby. She attended country school near their family farm north of Shelby.
She was united in marriage to Bernard George Korger on April 4, 1964. Two children joined this union. For many years she was a comfort to new mothers as she would help them and care for their children. Later she provided daycare in her home for many years. On August 31, 2018 Dolores moved to the Osceola Good Samaritan where she resided until her passing.
She was a member of St. Andrews Altar Society, Shelby Sacred Heart Altar Society, and Shelby Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include one son Randy Korger of Columbus; one daughter Karen (Rob) Koch of Seward; one grandson Curtis Koch (fiancé Jessica Wilson) of Papillion; two granddaughters Jaeden and Becca Koch of Seward; three sisters Marcella Zelasney of Osceola, Iona (Virgil) Hastings of Nebraska City, Elaine Burritt of Lincoln; three brothers Marv (Doris) Bernt of Shelby, Wilfred Bernt of Monroe, Albin Bernt of Columbus; brother-in-law Bernard Schaf of Columbus; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bernard who passed away May 30, 1999; two sisters, Huberta Schaf, Irene (Marion) Kubas, brothers-in-law Allen Zelasney, and Ralph Burritt; sister-in-law Betty Bernt.
