Dolores M. (Rague) Walker was welcomed in heaven, on October 29, 2019. Dolores passed quietly in her home with family by her side. Though heart-wrenching for all of those who love her, we know God has answered Dolores’ prayer as she rejoined her husband in heaven. Reflecting on Dolores’ life brings memories of her loving care for her family and friends.

Dolores was a devoted wife and mother. After her children were raised, she worked by her husband’s side as they built their family business, Queen Screen, in Moriches, New York. In addition, Dolores was a member of the Mastic Beach Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. While not working as a volunteer for the Auxiliary, she enjoyed bowling and spending time with family and friends. In 1991, Dolores and her husband (Dixie) moved from Long Island to Florida for retirement. Her love of children led Dolores to volunteer at Mariposa Elementary School for several years as a reading tutor.

Dolores’ life will be honored in loving memory by her family and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband, William R. Walker Jr. (Dixie), on July 29, 1994, and by her son, Gary J. Walker, on June 9, 2013. She is survived by their children, William (Carol) Walker, Lee (Deb) Walker, and Karen (Richard Jimenez) Walker. She was also blessed with loving grandchildren: Michelle Damiecki, Heather (Joshua) Strait, Justin (Olivia) Walker, Gary J. Walker Jr., Carl Ursum, Chris (Samantha) Ursum, and Candi Ursum. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Kristy Walker, on September 25, 2017. Dolores has fourteen great children. She was predeceased by her sister, Gladys (Rague) Boden, and her brothers Robert, Harold, and George Rague. Dolores is survived by her sisters Alice (Rague) Neville and Rita (Rague) Freelove.
