Dolores M. Nering, 92, of Freeburg, IL, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Freeburg Care Center in Freeburg, IL. Dolores was born December 1, 1928 in East St. Louis, IL.
She appreciated polka music, and her favorite song was Somewhere My Love. She loved great coffee and good doughnuts, anything blue, and she adored her grandchildren. Dolores also enjoyed shopping with her sisters, Stella and Helen, and she always had a great time with her family. She will be missed by those she loved. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; Walter and Mary Skrabacz (nee Rodak), her son; Eric A. Nering, three sisters; Jenny Golec, Stella Kersulis, and Helen Ziemba, one brother; Eddie Skrabacz, and one grandson; Jason Schmidt. Surviving are her three children; Karen Garrigus of Wentzville, MO, Brian (Tina) Nering of Waynesville, MO, and Carolyn Schmidt of Belleville, IL, two brothers; Raymond Skrabacz of Grafton, IL and Ted (Shirley) Skrabacz of Maryland, five grandchildren; Justin Schmidt, John Garrigus, Tina Garrigus, Andrea Nering, and Christina Nering, and six great-grandchildren.
