Dolores Lee (Swanson) Gloe of Indialantic, FL, joined her Lord in heaven on February 5, 2020 at her home. Dolores was born on March 9, 1927 to Olaf Swanson and Fern Mae (Grove) Swanson. Dolores was born at home on 19 North Thorp Street, Kansas City, Kansas.
Dolores attended Chelsea Grade School, on Wood Avenue, KCK. Then Whittier Grade School, Central Junior High School, and finally Wyandotte High School all in KCK. She graduated High School in 1945.
After High School she went to work at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, KCMO. She worked as operator, instructor, and supervisor on long distance. There she worked with Ruth Gloe. Ruth introduced Dolores to her brother, Paul.
In marriage she lived in Kansas, Missouri, New Jersey, Wisconsin, Illinois, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and finally Florida.
In those years she served as President PTA at Vance School, KCK.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Benjamin Gloe, her parents Olaf and Fern Swanson, daughter Brenda Mae, and son-in-law Gregory Sykes.
She is survived by her children Paul B Gloe II of Beaufort, NC., Claudia Sykes of Indialantic, FL ; Ron Gloe of Wichita, KS, Brian Gloe and wife Elizabeth, of Mission Hills, KS., and Keith Gloe and wife Jeri, of Shawnee, KS. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren: Paul III (wife Amiee), Jeffrey (wife Kristi), Krista (husband Scott), Greg II (wife Caroline), Joshua (wife Devanie), Meridith (husband Kris), Michael (wife Ashley), Abigail (husband Sean), Benjamin, Harrison, K. C., and Katelyn. She was also blessed with 15 great-grandchildren: Addie, Aurora, McKenzie, Jacob, Greg III, Sophie, Sebastian, Emmanuelle, Amanda, Gavin, Joshua II, Jaden, Zion, M’Koah, and Clark.
