Blueford, Dolores L.

Dolores L. Blueford passed away on June 2, 2020, in Glen Burnie, MD.  She was the wife of the late James Blueford, mother of Walter Johnston, deceased, and James L. Johnston, of U.S. Virgin Islands.  She is survived by 9 grandchildren.

Dolores was born on December 13,1927, in Baltimore, MD.  She was raised in South Baltimore and worked as a factory worker and barmaid.         In 1965 she moved to Anne Arundel County & became the neighborhood babysitter, caring for many children over the years and was known as “Aunt Dee Dee”.  She loved children, caring for them and having fun with them, even rollerskating with them at age 62.  She was also known for her great fried chicken and fabulous fudge.

In her later years, she worked as a shampoo girl at Angel’s Beauty Shop and was loved by the customers. Mrs. Blueford had a wit about her that everyone loved.  She was a kind and giving person and loved by many.

The Lord is my shepherd, I Shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside still waters,
he restores my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
For Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
