Dolores DeRuiter, 80, of New Troy, Michigan died Friday, February 27, 2009 at Lakeland Speciality Hospital in Berrien Center.
Dolores was born February 18, 1929 to Henry and Jenny (DeBoer) Sluiter in Chicago, Illinois. She married Henry DeRuiter on November 28, 1947, also in Chicago. Henry preceded her in death on May 4, 2004. Dolores worked in the kitchen at River Valley High School for over 15 years and also worked at the DeRuiter Greenhouse, a family owned business.
Survivors include her children, Virginia (Ronald) Hartog of Union Pier, Michigan; Henry DeRuiter of Olivet, Michigan; Glen DeRuiter; Donald (Julie) DeRuiter and Philip (Kathie) DeRuiter all of Three Oaks; grandchildren, Lee Fullerton, Michael Fullerton, Nathaniel (Penny) DeRuiter, Angela Gross, Michelle DeRuiter, Heather DeRuiter and Brittney DeRuiter; and brother Clarence Sluiter, Chicago.
