Dolores Carol (Harwick) Whittig, 90, of Caldwell, passed away peacefully at Autumn Wind Assisted Living in Caldwell on November 6, 2011.
Dolores was born first of two children on August 15, 1921, to Luther and Carol (Rorabaugh) Harwick at Bellaire, Kansas. Her family moved to Idaho in 1934 and settled in the Caldwell area.
Dolores and Hod enjoyed traveling to numerous places in the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe, especially enjoying Alaska & Hawaii. They were members of the Caldwell Ramblers Good Sams.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Doyle and Marcia and Lynn and Colleen; six grandchildren, Lisa (Gordon) Bates of Sandpoint, Id., Kent (Jennifer) Whittig of Meridian; Kirk (Katherine) Whittig of Nampa; Lari (Christopher) Holladay of Boise; Tahnee (Adam) Freeman of Caldwell; and Ryan Whittig of Caldwell. Six great grandchildren, Samantha & Zachary Bates of Sandpoint; Justin & Jaxson Freeman of Caldwell; Audrey Whittig of Meridian; and Hattie Holladay of Boise. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Lois Harwick of Caldwell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Hod; her brother Dale Harwick; and her parents.
The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff at Autumn Wind. Much TLC was given to our Mom and Grandmother over the last three years. Appreciation is also extended to XL Hospice.
