Dolores B. Fallon, 93, of Ridgefield, longtime resident of Yorktown Heights, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2022. She was the loving wife of the late Lawrence J. Fallon.

Dolores was born in New York City on December 27, 1928, daughter of the late Richard and Betty (Schauer) Langer. Shortly after graduating from White Plains High School, she won a scholarship to the Barbizon Modeling and Acting School in NYC. She met her future husband, Larry, while they were both living in the Batte Hill neighborhood of White Plains. They married in August of 1950 and moved to Yorktown Heights six years later.

Dolores worked for 20 years as an Interior Designer for J.H. Harvey and was a member of the Interior Design Society. Her design and painting talents were on full display in her home. Her intricate floral paintings could be seen adorning the walls in antique frames and hand embellished on the furniture she had strategically placed.

She was known in Yorktown Heights as “The Lavender Lady.” Her home, her clothing, and her jewelry were all in thoughtfully coordinated shades of purple. She enjoyed swimming and sunbathing with her family at Virginia Beach, Junior Lake Pool, and Ogunquit Beach.

Mrs. Fallon is survived by her children: Dawn McMahon, Brian Fallon and his wife, Vicky, and Stephen Fallon and his wife, Cherie. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Maeve “Mev” McMahon, Kristen Fallon, Lauren Fallon, Kevin Fallon, and Janet Elliot. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Fallon was predeceased by her step-father, Karl Roesing, and son-in-law, Jay McMahon.

In recognition of Mrs.
