On Wednesday, November 16, 2022, our beloved Dolly Deanna Green Northcutt left us and this world to be with her Savior Jesus in the beauty and joy of heaven.  As we honor Dolly and her life in the days ahead, we also give thanks that she is now healed and set free from pain and suffering.

Dolly was preceded in death by her parents, Elroy Dean Green and Mary Sue Green, her aunt Margaret Smith, and her aunt and uncle George and Gene Little, who were like a second set of parents. Survivors include her husband, Thomas Northcutt, Jr., stepchildren Brad (Randi) Northcutt and Jessica Hill, cousins and families of Jerry and Jada Little, Jeff and Le-Ann Little, and Jason and Stacy Little.

Growing up in Pinson with deaf parents, Dolly became an expert in sign language and held the deaf community close to her heart.  As a student at Pinson Valley High School, she enjoyed spending time with many friends and participating in Concert Choir, New Expressions musical group, and serving on the newspaper staff as a member and editor.  During these years, she was also elected as Band Sweetheart and Homecoming Queen.  Dolly attended Samford University where she was a member of the A Cappella Choir and Zeta Tau Alpha.  She also attended Auburn University and claimed, “War Eagle forever!”

Dolly loved to travel and could always share a funny story of being on the road, plane, train, or bus.  The beach beckoned her often and every trip there was “the best.”   She also enjoyed games and puzzles of all kinds, making everyone smile, laugh, and want to be on her team.  She definitely added a special flair to fun.  But probably the most accurate description of all, Dolly loved her family and friends.  Each one was special and loved dearly.  Time spent with “her people” was never taken lightly and always deeply treasured.

The photo section includes many fond memories.  These are but snippets that helped shape the life of Dolly Deanna Green Northcutt and lovingly filled the “dash” between 1958—2022.

To the King of ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. (1 Timothy 1:17)
