Dolly Belle Funk Hixenbaugh, 57 of Rowlesburg, WV (Etam Community) passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014 at her daughter’s residence with family by her side. She was born on May 9, 1957, daughter of the late George W and Ronelda F Freeland Funk. She graduated from Philip Barbour High School in 1974 and also attended Fairmont State College. She loved watching her grandkids play basketball, she enjoyed bingo and gardening. She owned and operated Buffalo Creek Bar for many years. Dolly is survived by two children, Stacey Hixenbaugh and Melissia, Veronica Shrout and Andy, all of Rowlesburg; and their dad, David F Hixenbaugh, Masontown; three granddaughters, Payton Zeigler, Jamesanna Shrout, Addison Shrout; one grandson, Dylan Nestor; three sisters, Mary Holyfield, Tunnelton, Linda Clarkson and husband Paul, Fellowsville, Betty Warden and Michael, Richmond, VA.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Dolly was preceded in death by one sister, Merle Knotts, one brother-in-law, Raymond Holyfield.
