Dollie Hendershot Snyder, formerly of Oviedo, FL, Bethesda, MD, and Lower Salem, OH, expired quietly at INOVA Alexandria hospital, on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. She was born to Herman and Bertha Hendershot in Lower Salem, OH on February 7, 1920.
Survivors include her sons, James, Jr., his wife, Gloria, and their daughter, Kimberly and her five children, Keeley, Malia, Carter, Marley, and Levi, son, Daniel, and two sisters, Betty Turkal, Richmond, VA, and Velma Wall, Winter Springs, FL. Both sons live in Alexandria, VA. Her husband, James M. Snyder predeceased her in May 2017 and her brother Warren in 1986.
Mrs. Snyder was graduated in 1939 from the Marietta Business Institute in Ohio where she was a member of the Alpha Iota International Honorary Business Sorority.
In recent years, Mrs. Snyder was an active member of the DAR, but her main concern had always been caring for her children during her husband’s frequent business trips around the globe.
