Doak was born on September 13, 1957 to Boyd and Joyce Opheikens.
In his younger days he was an avid baseball player and had a warm spot in his heart for animals, volunteering his time while in his wheelchair at the animal shelter.
Doak was preceded in death by his father, Boyd; mother, Joyce; and brother, Michael.
