Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Richard St. George and a sister, Melissa McNamee.
Dixie was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She attended Galesburg High School. Dixie worked at Maytag until her retirement in 1996. She then ran the counter at Quinn’s Corner until their closing in 2015 and later at Whip-n-Dip during the summers. She was “Grandma Dixie” to many of the children she knew. She decorated cakes, painted ceramics, and loved to go out to eat. She enjoyed her Diet Coke and her HGTV.
Dixie was a staple in the Abingdon community, known for her generous heart when it came to children and stubborn tenacity ensuring all things were done “Dixie’s way.” She loved her family and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow.
