Dixie D. Bottoms, 72, passed away after a long illness.
She was born in Marion the daughter of the late Willie and Doretta Shafer. She was a 1955 graduate of Marion High School. She married Clellon Bottoms on July 21, 1972 in Tennessee. He survives. Mrs. Bottoms retired in 1996 after 32 years with GenCorp. She enjoyed crafts, flower arrangements, traveling, trying new recipes and spending time with grandchildren. She attended the Upland United Methodist Church, Upland.
Survivors include four sons, Jack (Gail) Robinson, Jr., Sweetser, Ed Robinson, Pelham, AL, Ron (Cindy) Robinson, Decatur, AL, Ken (Becky) Robinson, Greer, S.C.; two daughters, Phyllis Hurd, Gas City, Susie (Tim) Edgell, Marion; a sister, Toni (Basil) Wyles, Sarasota, FL; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. A brother, George Shafer and a sister Cheyrel Mauller preceded her in death.
