Dionne Alicia Wiggan was born in Kingston, Jamaica on July 13, 1966 to Olive Henderson (née Wright) and Winston Wiggan. She attended Clan Carthy Primary, Donald Quarrie Secondary, and St. Andrew Technical High in Kingston, Jamaica before emigrating to the United States. She attended Long Island University in NY where she graduated with Bachelor’s Degrees in Nursing and Psychology, and worked for the past 20 years as a registered nurse, ultimately serving in leadership positions as Assistant Director of Nursing at Good Samaritan Health Center and Director of Nursing at Colonial Lakes Health Center. She was married to Ricardo Harris on October 17, 2001.
Dionne was grounded in her faith, always having a word of scripture for encouragement. She was loving, caring, kind and humble, with a big heart that was always ready to help others. She was fun-loving, and well known for enjoying fashion, dancing, music, and reading. She motivated others with her love of fitness and a healthy lifestyle. She was indeed an angel on earth, and we are comforted in knowing that she is an angel in heaven.
Dionne passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 14, 2021 after battling colon cancer. She is survived by Ricardo, her husband of 19 years, mother (Olive), father (Winston) and step-mother (Hyacinth), siblings (Paul McCallum, Gary McCallum, Sharon Sue-Wah-Sing, and Racquel Williams), 11 nieces and nephews, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
