Dillon Brown Russell, 93, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, April 24, 2023 at the VA Hospital in Salisbury.
Dillon was born September 9, 1929 in Stanly County, North Carolina to the late Dillon Brown Russell Sr. and the late Eunice Poplin Russell.
He was also preceded in death by brother, Ernest E. Russell, and son, Grant Gene Russell.
Dillon was a good husband and a wonderful father. God was the most important thing in Dillon’s life, followed by his loving family. He was a very family-centered man who served his nation and his church community.
Survivors include wife, Genoal Russell; son, Gary Kent Russell; daughter, Lisa (Rusty) Myers; daughter-in-law, Sandra Simmons Russell; grandchildren, Matthew Dillon Russell, Megan Howard, Breanna Myers; great-grandson, Leo Blones; niece, Vallie Taylor and nephew Ernie Russell.
The family would like to extend a special gratitude to the staff at the VA Hospital of Salisbury for the amazing care they gave to Dillon during his 2 month stay.
