Dianne Pongpakdee, 53 of Huntsville, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side.
Dianne was a wonderful wife, an amazing momma/mom who loved each of her kids unconditionally, and the best grandma/nana there will ever be.
Dianne spent many years taking care of the elderly, and always said they held a special place in her heart. She cherished and deeply loved life, her family, and especially her grandbabies until her very last breath.
Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Lillie Mae Gilliland, and brother, Houston Thomas Gilliland.
Left cherishing her memory forever is her husband, Perapon “Art” Pongpakdee, her 3 children Sareda Pongpakdee (Ritchie), Teela Pongpakdee (Emily), and Ching Lee Pongpakdee; her 3 grandbabies Elijah, Noah “Monster”, and Amelia; her sisters, Peggy Vongsubon and Mary Kaewim; and, a host of adored nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Dianne wanted to thank Dr. Brian Mathews with Clearview Cancer Institute in Huntsville, AL, publically by saying: “Dr. Mathews, thank you for your never ending effort to keep me with my family for as long as possible. Because of the grace of God and you, I got to experience many firsts and spend three more unforgettable years with them.”
“I know I may not get to ring that bell (my bell) here, but one day in heaven I will ring that bell for sure.”
And she did, on July 1, 2017.
Thank you to all the family and friends who gave encouragement and support over the last three years. She loved you all and we, as her family, appreciate all of you.
