Dianne Marie George, 58, of Jacksonville, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Prairie Village Healthcare Center in Jacksonville.
She was born June 25, 1954, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Robert Orville and Margaret Huff Zimmer.
She is survived by her son, William Dean (wife, Joye) George of Jacksonville; and half-sister Kimberly Kay Arekat (husband, Mohamed) of California. She was preceded in death by her father in 1970, and her mother in 1995.
Dianne lived for several years in Alaska, where she was as an entertainer. After returning to Jacksonville, she was a manager at Derby Gas Station. She earned her GED in 1990, and went on to graduate from Lincoln Land Community College in 1993, where she was the commencement speaker. She then attended Mac Murray College, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 1996. While a student at Mac Murray, she traveled to the Holy Land with her son. Dianne loved the races, and now “she will never miss a one!”
