Diane, the daughter of Robert and Helen (Robertson) Halter, was born on November 20, 1954 in Newton. She graduated from Newton High School in 1973 and later received her B.A. in Education from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 1977. Diane worked as a high school teacher and librarian for many different school districts including Kellerton, Albert City and Saydel, retiring in 2010. While teaching she was also a speech and drama instructor and a cheerleading sponsor.
Diane died on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. She was 63. Diane was preceded in death by her father, Robert Halter.
Diane is survived by her mother, Helen Halter of Newton; sisters, Debra (Donald) Jennings of Littleton, Colorado and Lori (Doug) Terlouw of Lynnville; nieces and nephews, Alyssa (Bill) Elmore, Shawn Jennings (fiancé, Nicole Graham), Emily Terlouw, Mariah Terlouw, and Kyle Terlouw; and her great-niece and nephew, Aubryn Elmore and Ardan Elmore and one more great on the way.
