Diane Claire Gogarty Gauchet lost her long, courageous battle with Alzheimers disease on Thursday, November 27, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Stanley J. and Ruth S. Gogarty. She was also the beloved wife of the late Danny Leo Gauchet. She is survived by their children, Pam G. Schroeder (John), Stanley J. Gauchet (Kathy), Danny L. Gauchet, Jr. (Connie), and Mark P. Gauchet, and grandchildren, Aimee’ G. Menard (Mark), Amanda R. Schroeder, Geoffrey J. Gauchet, Kate E. Youngblood, and Michelle C. Gauchet, and her only sister, Myron E. Gogarty. She is also survived by three special nephews.
Diane was born in New Orleans, LA on June 30, 1929 and was a longtime resident of Old Metairie for over 50 years. She was a wonderful homemaker, outstanding cook, enjoyed entertaining, playing tennis and bowling, and doing volunteer work including serving as President of Ladies Leukemia League. In 2005, she retired as Community Coordinator at the English Turn Development.
