Diana Gaska Mares passed over to her next job on Monday, February 6, 2017 in Las Cruces, NM. Diana was born on December 23, 1946 in New York, NY to Matthew Gaska and Frances Hutchinson. In her lifetime, Diana had eight children, seven of whom she adopted. She had been a resident of New Mexico for over thirty years before moving to Merida, Mexico. Diana had been a foster parent for CYFD and a treatment foster parent for Border Area Mental Health for more than 12 years. She was a member of the Evergreen Garden Club and had a love of landscaping and gardening.
Diana leaves here to carry on, her sons, Phillip Fivis (Michelle),and Joseph Mares of Albuquerque, Tyrell Mares and Robert Mares of Silver City, Michael Mares and Jesse Mares of Merida, Mexico; daughters, Jennifer Gose (Scott) of Albuquerque and KC Elizabeth Mares of Merida Mexico; two grandchildren, Kathleen and Scotty. She was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Frances Gaska.
