Diana J. Hancz, 79, of Hudson Lake in New Carlisle, IN, passed away at 10:10 CST, Friday, February 11, 2022, at Robin’s Nest in Mill Creek, IN, following a long battle with cancer. Diana was born September 18, 1942, in Philadelphia, PA, to Harry and Frieda (Koch) Mroz. In 1947, at the age of 5, her parents moved the family to Hudson Lake, IN. On February 21, 1963, she married Peter S. Hancz, who preceded her in death on March 21, 2012. They were married for 49 years and lived all of those years at the lake. Diana is preceded in death by her older brother, Roger Brennom; older sister Judy Knack; and younger sister, Carol Rush. Diana was a stay-at-home mom who devoted her life to raising her children and was an avid student of the Bible all her life and member of the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Diana is survived by four daughters, Jennifer (Troy) Mireles and Susan Hughes, both of New Carlisle, IN, Sarah (James) Rogers of South Bend, IN, and Laura Falcone of Benton Harbor, MI; three grandchildren, Karly (Allen) Ament, Cody Rogers, and Kaitlyn Hughes; two step-grandchildren, Anthony Rogers and Sean Rogers; two great grandchildren Leo Ament and Stella Rogers; one sister, Linda (Edward) Raschke of Holland, OH and one brother, Thomas (Angelika) Mroz of Berlin, Germany. She loved gardening, especially irises, playing basketball, bowling, card games, ice skating, cooking, baking, & spending time with her family. She loved the beauty of Jehovah’s creation, and taught her children to care and value it as well. Diana was kind and compassionate, a wonderful mother, devoted wife, and zealous servant of Jehovah. She always looked for the good in others and had amazing courage and strength when facing her battle with cancer. She will be missed by all those who knew her, but she will never be forgotten.
