Dewey Lee Sedore, 74 of Moberly, was born on his family’s farm in Keosaqua, Iowa, on May 12, 1946, to Doyle and Liz (Meade) Sedore and died May 6, 2021. Dewey was a US Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War, prior to receiving an honorable discharge.

In the wild and precious years between, Dewey became a big brother to Pat (Aaron) Burr, Roger (Joyce) Sedore, Mary (Jack) Hooper, Lisa (Jeff) Armstrong, and Todd (Tina) Sedore, all who survive him-a husband to the late Janice (Morgan) Sedore,
-a father to Lori (Teresa), Scott, and Nate (Pam)
-a beloved Pa to Brawlee and Granger Sedore and Paige and Nathan Sedore, all who survive him
-an uncle to many nieces and nephews
-a son in law to James and Delores Morgan, -a brother in law to Cathi, Jim, Caroline, and John
-a bereaved father and grieving widower

Dewey was a worker in a sawmill, in a warehouse, on a wheat harvesting crew and then on a cotton harvesting crew, a college student, at a farm and home supply store, and he finished his working career burning up the highways as an over-the-road truck driver.

When his retirement rolled around, he and his son, Scott, began restoring antique tractors. They turned buckets of metal, bolts, and rust into award-winning, show-stopping things of beauty.  After Scott’s death, he completed restoration work on several tractors as a labor of love, of tribute, of a search for peace in the shop where he and his son had worked shoulder to shoulder for so many years.

Dewey and Janice traveled yearly to many places in the southeast, but New Orleans was his love. He couldn’t make it out of the city without a solid plan to return. The lively streets of the French Quarter were like air to him and he remembered every detail, every face, every place.

His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Brawlee-his political wonk and a great debater. Paige-his only granddaughter, his volleyball player, his scholar. Granger-his artist and creator, Bubba (Nathan)-his football player, the future of Friday Night Lights. Everything his grandkids did was genius and warranted a retelling to anyone who would listen. And let it be known, all of the four could do no wrong in his eyes.
