A Brief Sketch of His Life
DeWayne Keith Drake was born July 9, 1959, in Indianapolis Indiana. He was the son of Patricia Perkins Pate and Ernest Drake.
He was educated in the Indianapolis Public School System. He last attended Shortridge High School, and later, he received his GED.
He had been employed by Maggiano’s, Bob Evans, FedEx and at the time of his passing, he was a loving caregiver. He enjoyed serving his clients and ensured that they were being cared for well. His clients became extended members of his family.
DeWayne reunited with his longtime friend, Sheerree Davis, and they were united in Holy Matrimony on November 22, 2014, when He became a King to His Queen “ReeRee”. This union with Sheerree was one of his hearts desires and it truly fulfilled him to be a solid man.
DeWayne was passionate and proud of all that he accomplished. He was a leader, protector and provider for his family.
The love he shared with his family and friends will be greatly missed. He departed his earthly home for his Heavenly home on Wednesday August 24, 2022. He was preceded in death by his sister, Belinda Drake, and father, Ernest Drake.
He leaves a loving wife, Sheerree Drake, and their beloved companion, Starberry “Star”; three sons, DeWayne, Terry and Tyrone Drake; brothers, Tyrone (Angela) and Terry Drake; grandchildren, D’Niya, DeWayne “Tre”, and Dior; mother, Patricia Perkins Pate, and a host of aunts and uncles, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
