Devonte Montrell “Ju’mane” Jackson, a native and resident of Gainestown, was born Dec. 7, 1991 to the parentage of Diane Jackson and Karl Peoples. He departed this life Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021. Devonte aka “Juicy” or “Ju’mane,” was well known throughout the community. Juicy loved to dance, play softball, race mini bikes, and most of all eat! Juicy worked with his grandfather at Frank & Son Mobile Home Movers.
Preceding him in death were his grandfather, Alonzo Jackson Sr.; great-grandparents, Nelson Williams, Jennie L. Fox, Annie Jackson and Samuel Byrd Jackson; one aunt, two great-aunts and seven great uncles.
Left to cherish his memories are his parents, Diane (Brian) Landrum of Gainestown and the Rev. Karl (Norma) Peoples of Grove Hill; son Deyunte’ Jackson of Gainestown; three brothers, Jeremy Jackson of Hoover, Brandon Nettles of Grove Hill and Karl Peoples Jr. of Tuscaloosa; 1 stepbrother, Brian Landrum Jr. of Arlington; four sisters, Tempestt Peoples of Wisconsin, Trinity Peoples of Montgomery, Brenda Cade of Thomasville and Shirllesia Chapman of Atlanta, Ga.1 step sister, Jkrann Bridges of Arlington; god-sister, Laneika Lucyies of Gainestown; grandparents, Frank (Mary B.) Jackson of Gainestown and Georgia N. Jackson of Selma; with 21 aunts, 11uncles, four nieces and three nephews; step-grandmother, Linda Landrum and step-grandfather, Amos (Elaine) McDaniels, both of Thomasville; two devoted friends, Deirdre Washington and Lendon Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.
