Derrell Gray Norman of Temple, Texas was laid to rest August 20, 2012 at the age of 86. Arrangements were made by the Dossman Funeral Home of Belton, Texas. Derrell was born on September 11, 1925 in Concho County to Howard Gray and Bertie Prosise Norman.
He worked in the vending business all of his adult life and owned D’s Pool Hall in downtown Temple in the 60’s and early 70’s. He worked for Henry Adams Amusement until his retirement, then opened a TV repair shop and worked into his 80’s.
Derrell was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was severely crippled by a diving accident when he was 18 years old but refused to be considered disabled and worked his entire life. Derrell is survived by two sons Larry and wife Patty Norman of Temple, Gerald Wayne and wife Jean Norman of Moody. Five grandchildren. His brother Richard and wife Fern Norman of Temple and two sisters Lela Roberts of Holland and Bonnie Norman of Temple.
