Dennis William Murr, 81, of Concord, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital in Concord, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Murr was born July 1, 1941 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Louis William Murr and the late Mary Dorothea Murr.
He was also preceded in death by his wife Doris Jean Murr of 45 years.
Dennis was mechanically inclined and very gifted with his hands. He had a passion for reading and collecting books. In his early years, he grew to enjoy photography and gardening. He retired from Phillip Morris after a very long and successful career.
Survivors include daughter, Terry (Daniel) Townsend, daughter, Jennifer (Michael) Blake, daughter, Julie (James Wellons) Sides, son, Douglas (Emily Pugh) Murr, sister, Patty Birchler, sister, Gale McCauley, sister, Phyllis Algeier, grandchildren, Kristen Blake, Amber Sides, Aaron Townsend, Sara Blake, and Ava Sides, and one great granddaughter Maeve Cohen.
