Dennis “Den” Tettenborn, 63, of Elkhart, died Thursday afternoon (Nov. 12, 2009) in his home. He was born Sept. 4, 1946, in Chicago to Albert and Gladys (Klima) Tettenborn. On Feb. 28, 1970, he married Sandra E. Giglio in Knox. She survives along with many neighborhood friends. Mr. Tettenborn retired as a machinist from Rockwell International (now Boeing), Knox, after working there for over 20 years. He worked part-time at Palmer Hardware in the rental and small engine area, and from his garage repaired small engines for friends and neighbors.
A graduate of Knox High School, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War who served in Germany from 1966 until he was honorably discharged in 1968. Mr. Tettenborn enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
